it is important to know what actual training any doctor has.
I, as a physician, can label myself to be anything I want to - I could call my self a "relation specialist" if I wanted to, even though I have no psychiatric training, and no training in relationship counseling at all.
I think common knowledge is that Dr. Drew is an internist - that means his formal training is in standard medical diseases like diabetes, vascular disease, high blood pressure, heart disease, on and on, like any internal medicine physician. This would mean that he has no formal training in psychiatry nor counseling.
He may be considered an expert in counseling just because he has developed an interest and has developed his own expertise through experience, but I do not believe he has formal training in this field
If he has a PhD, or some master's degree in psychiatry or psychology, please correct me, but I think you'll find he does not.
