If a person loses their hair during kemo will the hair grow back?!
Question: If a person loses their hair during kemo will the hair grow back.?
Answers:
We are all students in life so don't be so hard on yourself about spelling. My wife had beautiful long hair and then she started her chemotherapy treatments.
After her 4th treatment her hair started falling out...little by little, getting thinner and thinner. Finally before it all would be out, I took her to get fitted for a wig. When she got her wig shaped they shave her head (professionally done).
After 3 or 4 weeks after her last treatment...it started to come back! It is so fun to pet, soooo smooooth. She has a thin head of hair about 1/16 of an inch, but it is there. It is so cute.
I am taking a picture of it for our memory book. I understand that it probably will not be the same kind of hair she had before. It will be more curly where before it was straight.
Actually hair loss was one of the least effects of the drug, but it is the first thing people notice.Health Question & Answer

Yes, it should grow back. Cancer is basically cells that are growing out of control. Chemo destroys fast growing cells. One of the faster growing cells in the body are Hair follicles which is where hair grows from. That is one of the main reasons why peoples hair falls out when they go through chemotherapy.Health Question & Answer
There is the rare occasion that it doesn't grow back, but very rare. If it's chemo and radiation, it will take longer to grow back. I've been done for 2 1/2 weeks now and I haven't had any regrowth yet.Health Question & Answer
