Question: I just got braces and when I touch my teeth together it hurts is this normal.?
I got my braces on wednsday and when i touch my front teeth together it hurts is this normal.? How long will it take to stop hurting.? thanks..Health Question & Answer

Answers:
yes its normal.. this will happen for the first few days.. realize that your mouth just got a lot of stress put on it.. in my opinion, braces only hurt the most when you first get them put on.. when you start getting them tightened once a month, it does hurt a little but you kinda get used to it.. (or at least i did)

do yourself a favor and just eat soft food for now.. your mouth will thank you!Health Question & Answer

YES! perfectly normal......
When i first got my braces I tried eating a pork chop and was in for a rude awakening!
It hurt like heck! I just made sure I had tylenol or advil and within 3-5 days I got used to it......
but when you go back in couple months to get your wires tightened, you will feel the same painHealth Question & Answer

It is normal but it should stop in a few days to a week.. This will happen most every time they are adjusted aswell.. Trust me though it's worth the pain in the long run..Health Question & Answer

yes, very normal.. This will stop hurting though.. Ive had mine on for 2 months now and I am very used to them.. They are a little sore at times [when they are tightened] but its much better than the beginning..
Hang in there!Health Question & Answer

Yep, and everytime you get them tightened they'll hurt too.. Drink some cold water, take some aspirin.. You'll be okay in a few days..Health Question & Answer
