It's not any less numb than it was when I was at the dentist. I've had lots of cavities filled before and the numbness usually wears off after an hour or two.

Depends on what type of anesthetic was used. There are some long acting anesthetics that can last 8-10 hours.If you are still numb in a few hours,call the service to let the doctor know you are still numb. I can't top the dentist, but I can tell you I had a lower molar filled about a month ago and it was numb for about 6 hours. It was torture, but it finally went away. I just really wanted to eat something-it was awful.

yeah it is normal... i've gotton cavity's filled b4... once it waz still numb 7 hours l8er....i started gettin scared... my mom called the dentist and he said it waz normal...
