That doesn't save water. It wastes it. If you're brushing your teeth, you're not scrubbing your body simultaneously, so gallons are going down the drain. All the water needed to brush teeth is a few drops. Wet your toothbrush at the sink, turn off the water, brush, then turn it back on to rinse.
P.S.- As everyone else has said, it's the same water and drain, so it's not bad for your shower or teeth. Much worse things have gone down the drain than toothpaste. It's not going to save water though.Health Question & Answer

Oh the HORROR!! I think any water in straight from the tap is bad for you with all the bad chemicals in it. Plus fluoride isn't good for you either, just because they say it is doesn't mean you should blindly believe it. Making up a use for fluoride allows companies to get rid of their waste without paying a fine. I just brush with baking soda. Health Question & Answer
In my opinion there is nothing wrong with brushing your teeth in the shower. The shower water is the same water you get out of your faucet in the sink. And I don't see how brushing your teeth in the shower could be bad for the shower.Health Question & Answer
Nope, it is just the same as if you brushed your teeth at the sink... you are just naked and soaking wet while doing it. I personally think that it is kindof weird but hey, if people want to do it more power to 'em for saving a bit of water! =)Health Question & Answer
I don't think there's anything bad. I do it sometimes (not to save money) The only disadvantage is the absence of a mirror to scratch out that bacteria @ the back of my tongue.

You use just as much water brushing you teeth in the shower as you would at the sink ( perhaps more in the shower). Water is water..whether it comes from the sink or the shower. How long did it take for you to think of that one.Health Question & Answer
Nothing wrong with it, but I always keep my brush in medicine cabinet. Did you know bacteria from toilet floats around room with every flush.? Kinda great to know, you won't forget it. Health Question & Answer
