Question: What do i do my mouth is in so much pain.?
i went to the dentist today for a filling and when they gave me the Novocaine i passed out(not really sure why ive got them before) and so they woke me up and filled the cavity and then i left but as my numbness wore off my tooth hurts so bad i want to rip it out. my dentist only takes patients with my insurance on saturdays and has many appointments scheduled for the next few saturdays and they said to call monday and schedule another appointment (i need 4 molers removed one grew in sideways and is putting all kinds of pressure on the side of my mouth) but im in so much pain i cant stand it. i took advil but it still hurts incredibly bad. its to the point that eating even hurts and the pain is shooting up my jaw and into my ear. there is no other dentists in the area that will take my insurance currently. is there anything i can do for now.?Health Question & Answer

The best advice I can offer you is to change your diet until you can see the dentist! Instead of eating something that requires a lot of chewing try eating yogurt! At night sleep with cotton balls around the area where you had the filing or when the pain becomes to much! Health Question & Answer

the dentist probably just needs to file down on the filling he put in. it is probably too high so it is changing the way you bite and putting all the pressure on that tooth since when you close your mouth it hits that tooth first. dont bite down so much load up on pain meds and call the dentist office first thing in the morning. they cannot reject you! fight! tell them its an emergency procedure. and if the say no still just go in! be tough. eat fluids try not to chew. hope everything goes okHealth Question & Answer
