Can i get rid of a slight lisp ?!

Question: Can i get rid of a slight lisp .?
I have a very slight lisp and kind of paranoid about it. i already talk super fast so im trying to take more time when i talk to people... what else can i do .?

like my new tennis instructor ( now i have 2 ) asked my name and i said " alyssa " very clear and he kept asking. then repeated " Alysstha .? " like with a lisp and im not sure why he did that...

at least my other instructor intervened and corrected him really loud on purpose.Health Question & Answer

Go to a speech therapist. They really help! There is a little girl I babysit, and she goes weekly to hers. Her speech has really improved. You couldn't understand what she was saying before: "I want a cupcake" would come out as "iwah tuptay", now she's still working on her "th", "s" and "c and k" sounds. now "I want a cupcake" Comes out "I want a tuptate" close, considering she's been there for a year! She can almost pronounce her "th" sounds, and her s's are clear! I think it's quite an improvement for only a year! A slight lisp may even be caused by your teeth: Before braces, I had a gap of about a millimetre between my two front teeth. it caused me to have a very slight lisp that was only heard if you REALLY listened closely. If your teeth aren't "perfectly straight" or you have gaps in your teeth, this may also cause you to have a lisp. if you are really wanting to fix this, get braces! But see a speech therapist first. Honestly, they will help you most with this. I doubt it is you teeth, but if speech therapy doesn't help, have a consult with an orthodontist! It may be your teeth causing you to lisp. I feel sorry for you, with the instructor incident. hey, maybe he has a lisp too! I think he was probably too immature to realize that you had a lisp. Thank goodness for that other instructor! I hope I helped!Health Question & Answer
