Sorry, but you're probably not going to be able to just walk in somewhere and have them removed. If you explain the situation, in terms of your dad not maintaining the orthodontic treatment you may have better luck. But, anywhere you go is going to require you to fill out papers (like a medical history) and become at least a temporary patient.

If you are under 18 you will be required to have a parent with you. also, it will cost you. I don't know how much, but you will likely pay more since this is not your regular office and the fees for new patients are generally a little higher for your first visits. also, if they feel that the orthodontics have not been properly completed they may be very reluctant to take them off. Or they may flat out refuse. They will probably want records from your previous office and consent to remove them from your dad or whoever paid to put them on. I know this sounds disappointing, but if we allowed anyone to walk in off the street and have them removed then we would end up with a lot of kids getting them taken off b/c they don't like them. And in return a lot of angry parents that paid for them.

If your dad will help you and is ok with you taking them off, your best bet would be for him to call an office. Explain the situation and tell them that he is not willing or does not have the $$ to complete the treatment. I hope this helps.Health Question & Answer

Many orthodontist will want you to be a patient, and will then do a check up to make sure everything is in order. After that they will make a judgment of whether or not to remove the braces. If senior pictures are in 2 weeks, plan on having them on because even if you went back to your original orthodontist, it would still take 2 visits. also being a patient doesn't necessarily mean you have to be a regular patient. also, have your current orthodontist fax over your records, so the new doctor isn't in the dark.Health Question & Answer

You'll have to become a patient and pay for the operation; then you can discuss with the orthodontist and figure out the temporary cost. You do have to be a patient, but that doesn't mean a permanent one. Health Question & Answer

HINEY,
call and ask a general dentist if he would do this for you. He'll need your written consent and the copy of your old orthodontist's records that the case is now finished and the braces can come off. You will need to wear retainers however.Health Question & Answer

call your old ortho, tell him u moved and ask him to transfer your file to an ortho in your area. (or at least give you a couple of ortho names he knows and send you the file by mail)

he might charge you for that tho.Health Question & Answer

your just doing to have to deal with becoming a patient...
and you need to go because your teeth can start to have other problems if you dont...
Health Question & Answer

They probably won't do that unless they have your dental records. Ask your dentist in PA to fax them to you or your new ortho.Health Question & Answer
