Because our mouths used to have more room for teeth. But as the human brain grew, the room available for wisdom diminished. Most people don't have room so food gets trapped easier, they are more prone to cavities, as well as causing crowding which can realign people's teeth if they actually do come in. I had to have mine out because they were impacting and I would get an infection every time one would try to cut through.Health Question & Answer
If you have room in your mouth and the wisdom teeth are not crowding out your other teeth there is no need to remove them. I didn't have mine out until a few years ago (at the age of 42) . If they start to get decay because they are hard to reach and brush or if they start to crowd and shift your other teeth, then it is best to get them pulled. The only reason you would need them is if you had your next molars out and the wisdom teeth might fill in. Most of the time wisdom teeth come in and crowd your other teeth or they are difficult to keep clean and are prone to cavities and infections. Have them out, it's not that bad. If your mouth is too small when they come in they can ruin the alignment of your teeth. I have a tiny mouth and when mine started to come in they would have totally messed up my perfect teeth.Health Question & Answer
Just because your mouth is to small and if you let them come in then they would push your teeth which ever way so them could fit in your mouth. It would be painful. Your best bet would be to go ahead and get them out.Health Question & Answer
