Question: When will the elastics on my braces stop hurting me.?
I've had braces for about one and a half years now, but on Tuesday, my dentists surprised me with elastics. I'm supposed to leave them on at all times and change them every 24 hours. At first, it didn't really bother me, but yesterday they really started hurting my teeth. I'm barely chewing my food anymore; I'm just basically relying on my back teeth to mush it a little and then swallow. When will this be over.?Health Question & Answer

ouch bummer dude. Yea i had those years ago and they hurt for maybe a week. Its just your mouth getting used to the new feeling and the elastics are to keep you from opening your teeth too far or fast because of the pain.Health Question & Answer
