Is it normal that I find it difficult to control my sweet tooth?!
Question: Is it normal that I find it difficult to control my sweet tooth.?
The thing is, I will not actually go out and deliberately buy sweets for myself. I am perfectly fine with refusing sweets when someone asks if I want any. My probelm is when I am at home and I know that there are cookies in the cookie jar and I know that if I just have a taste then my sweet tooth will be satisfied. So I usually give in, and have like one cookie and no more than that...but I do it just about everyday.

You have to understand that refined sugar is addicting. Your brain releases 'happy endorphins' when you satisfy your sweet tooth. Any addiction is hard to overcome. I went through this-I was sooo addicted to sweets but wanted to avoid the diabetes that runs in my family. I actually tried really hard to find out how to not eat so much sugar and found out half of my problem is that I was thirsty all the time. When I drank enough water I didn't crave sugar as much. Other than that I just had to work through my cravings which made me cranky but became less frequent over time. Good luck to you.Health Question & Answer
