Tell her to exercise, limit her on the kinds of foods she eats unless she works out. Make sure to give her an incentive. When she realizes how much being a healthy weight improves her life-quality, she will want to work out, join some sports etc.

Do it young, or she will never want to.

If she complains about being sore, give her some vitamins, things like L-Glutamine help get rid of the lactic acid in the body. Best of all, you can't take too much, if you do your body just excretes them and you receive no downfalls to the supplement.Health Question & Answer

There should be no Convincing. YOU are the mom. And what YOU say goes. This site is a great way of tracking calories and exercise:

Remove all Junk in your house. Anything that's really high in carbs, and high in sugars. But stuff like celery and you can even put peanut butter on it. Or if she likes fruit.? She can eat practically ALL the fruit she wants to. Cook dinner, chicken, fish. Foods that are high in protein. Have salad, with low fat dressing. Buy Wheat bread, for sandwiches. Its a LOT healthier than white bread. Buy low fat mayo. etc. All you have to do is get rid of the junk, buy healthy food and tell her thats what she's eating. YOU are the boss.

Okay, first off, she's tall for her age. 140 lbs is BARELY overweight (55th %); and that's only because she's young.

Why don't you, her parent (I'm assuming) stop buying the food that has probably caused her to be "overweight".? No junk food. No soda. No sweets. Etc. You should already be eating like this anyway. Maybe go back to your doctor and ask for recommendations. Get her involved in a sport. And stop complaining, and Stop Typing Like This Like You Are The 12 Year Old. You are the one who raised your daughter, and if she has bad eating habits, it's not HER fault.Health Question & Answer

She is not overweight. She's 5'7'' and 140 lbs.?.? No way.Health Question & Answer
