Depending on how cool your boss is just tell him. I have read in several articles that "mental health" days are very valuable to employee productivity and moral. These articles also stated the obvious which is that if you call in sick it's best to sequester yourself at home because you don't want to be seen by your boss or coworker out doing things when you're supposed to be sick. The articles stressed that whenever possible honesty is the best policy. Tell your boss / manager the truth. Tell him that personal obligations so overwhelmed you on your days off that you weren't able to recuperate from the week's work. If they have been through any form of management training they'll know how much less productive a stressed and overworked employee is and unless things are very busy at work they may just give you the day off.Health Question & Answer

I think you should call in sick. But I also think you should consider taking a week's vacation, or a week of personal time so that you can get all your other stuff in your personal life done that you need to do, and still have time to relax and unwind. You can't do all that in 2 days, or one sick day. But if you aren't feeling well, you should call in sick, stay home, relax and not worry about anything for the day. But like I said, taking a week or even 4 or 5 days off might be a good idea at this point.Health Question & Answer
