please don't listen to all this bullshit every one else is telling you. they all need serious attitude adjustments.

look, i think i should know because i've had a doctor diagnose me with anorexia. i went to the doctor in June at a low weight and had blood tests done..........they diagnosed me with mono. i went back 3 months later because i still was too weak to do anything. my weight had obviously dropped and the doctors said that my mono was already gone. i had four nurses come in and take a 4 extremity blood pressure mand they were all freaking out because they thought that the machine was broken because my pulse was so low.

they took me out of the room and the doctor talked to my mom. thats when i was officially diagnosed with anorexia. i knew what was going on but i tried to deny it. when i got back in the car i asked my mom what the doctor said and she told me. i got mad and was screaming and crying....i was in total denial. my mom set me up an appointment with a therapist. 3 weeks later i got a nutritionist. a few months later i got a phsychiatrist (and got on Prozac) and soon after that we got a family therapist.

the doctors were all very very patient and sweet as they understood it was a very delicate situation. none of them ever were rude (like some of the people who tried to answer).

if you want ot know anything else or want to ask me some more specific questions email me at kelfgg@yahoo.com

hope this helps :)Health Question & Answer

A doctor would say the person requires psychological help. Anorexia is a disease of the mind and the body. They need more help then just "eat some food."Health Question & Answer

Because eating disorders are psychological rather physiological, s/he'd most likely refer an anorexic to a counselor or rehab.Health Question & Answer

Ask them overly personal questions, listen to the answers, not bothering to hide their disgust then tell them they can have anti depressants or go on a waiting list to see a councilor...could be up to 3 months waitingHealth Question & Answer

probably say they had a problem and would recomemend them checkign into a drug rehab center (its for addictions, even the ones that dot evolve drugs)Health Question & Answer

he'd probably call them a freakHealth Question & Answer
