Yep. Sure can, rinse away. Just rinsing beans can cut the salt by 1/3. You can also reduce the complex sugars in some canned foods by rinsing.Health Question & Answer
Rinsing your canned veggies will get rid of some of the salt, but the amount is pretty miniscule. Unfortunatly the salt soaks into the veggies. If you're worried about salt, switch to frozen veggies...you'll also get more of the other nutrients that way. The canning process eliminates most of the nutrients in the veggies.Health Question & Answer

It won't hurt. But it won't help all that much either. The sodium soaks into some of the vegys. But some of your less absorbant vegys can be better strained, rinsed and cooked in plain water. Raw vegys are the best of course but they are so expensive...right.?!Health Question & Answer
no. but the labels will get soggy and might come off.Health Question & Answer
it might, but i think it would depend on what vegetable it is, it might also have absorbed the salt. so washing might not do anything.Health Question & Answer
I always drain the water off any canned goods that I use for the same reason.
Of course, you can always buy the sodium free or low sodium canned goods, but they cost a little more.Health Question & Answer
