Question: Success with Low/no Carb Diets.?
I know that these types of diets are very unhealthy and many people often rebound from them. Im desperate and i need to lose weight in a short amount of time and my coach says that this type of diet will work. Anybody had any success with them or know anyone who has.? hold on. these diets are NOT unhealthy. and people rebound from them, just like they do any diet because they return to their old eating habits. period.

75% of the population do very well on these diets because we don't tolerate carbs well. period.

about the unhealthy part. let me explain:

if someone says these diets are unhealthy, ask them this:

"Please tell me an essential carbohydrate." They can't because there isn't an essential carbohydrate.

then ask them:

"Please tell me an essential fat and essential protein" IDK if they will but there are many of each.

Why.? because protein and fats are essential to our diets! Carbohydrates are not! IF our body needs carbs, it will convert our stored protein (muscles) into glucose (carbohydrates). our bodies can not create protein or create fat. so we must provide our body with them.

Carbs in our diet should be earned. If we are overweight, restrict them and watch the fat disappear. Once we reach our bodyfat level goals, sloooowlllyyy reintroduce them back into our diet. Preferably for breakfast and after our workout. We should learn to MANAGE carbs based on how sensitive we are to them.

to answer your question, I have lost a lot of fat with keto diets. and i know alot of people that i have written programs for, who have lost alot of fat as well. They WORK! They are DIFFICULT because of our crappy diets we've had since we were kids. Sugar is addictive!

Initially, you will lose alot of weight in the first week. its only water weight. but after this, the loss is fat.

you will lose a fair amount of weight pretty quickly, its just extremely hard to follow, and you get a lot of cravings (dont give in because they wont stop if you do) !! When I was doing it I ate 33g of carbs total a day, but the longest I could stick with it was 2 weeks Health Question & Answer
