Question: Does not eating really cause you to loose weight.?
I am not asking because i want to loose weight or get an eating disorder. I am simply asking because i have heard numerous times that not eating backfires on you and makes you gain weight. But then why do anorexic people get so skinny if they never eat.?Health Question & Answer

while you are in the midst of not eating, you will not gain weight. you may in fact lose weight (see kids in africa). the problem is you are losing more muscle than fat. so instead of looking healthy, you look sickly. ever heard of the term "skinny fat".?

your body thinks you are starving, so it slows down your metabolism. meaning it won't burn calories are efficiently. then guess what.? suddenly we binge on food! and since our metabolism is slow, we store most of this food as fat.

so in the end, we put on more fat, we have less muscle. its all bad
