How long is it OK to fast for.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
First of all, do you have any health problems and are you on any medication.? If so, check with the doc.
If you're fit, try 24 hours at first, on just water (warm or cold). Do it alone at a weekend, cos you'll feel pretty horrible.
Your breath will probably stink as various toxins come out of your system; you might get a white coating on your tongue and a bit of a thick headache. Don't drive!
Break your fast with a raw salad of celery, cabbage and apple chopped up fine.
Give it a few weeks then do it again; if you can take it up to 36 hours every few weeks that's fine.
Don't get obsessive, though, and eat sensibly between times.
And if you really can't take it, at least you've tried and there's no harm done.Health Question & Answer

It is feasible to lose weight quickly but you should be realistic and comprehend that if you lose weight quickly then you will inevitably put it all back on again just as quickly. I lost 7 pounds in recent times when I had a wedding to attend, and I did it by following the instruction presented on the website in the box below.Health Question & Answer

Well when i had a medical procedure done they made me not eat for a little over 24 hours, i was allowed to drink tons of water and ginger ale ONLY. So i don't think all clear liquids qualify, seeing how some clear sodas have tons of sugar and calories.Health Question & Answer

Depends what your fasting for. For most medical procedures, you'll need to fast for 8-12 houisr and clear liquids/black cofee, tea, broths are usually ok.Health Question & Answer

I wouldn't think you would want to fast with anything other than water because of the sugar value - drinking sugary things makes me sort of nauseous on an empty stomach.Health Question & Answer
