Once you've read all the "you need carbs" post go and google "essential fatty acids" and "essential amino acids" - yup they are there. You need fats and protein to live. Now try and google "essential carbs." Wow, odd it isn't there.

You don't need carbs to live. Your body can easily make glycogen from protein and fats if you have decent vitamins and eat well. Does it help to have carbs.? Yes. Carbs convert to glycogen more easily (simple carbs like sugar convert directly) and spike your insulin.

One reason your energy level might be declining is that you are probably dieting. I'm guessing that you are on a keto based diet with all that cardio because you are trying to cut fat. And its probably been working and now you are stalling.

Here is why: your body has gotten used to living with no carbs. Your insulin levels have dropped. But you probably aren't eating enough and drinking enough water. You need to overeat a little because protein will make you feel full. Check your calorie levels - you should be at around 14 calories/lb of body weight. Much below that and your body will slip into starvation mode after a few weeks and your metabolism will slow down and you'll start feeling weak and tired. Sound familiar.?

also, you need to add in a cheat meal once every week or two. Get some healthy carbs in. Yes, you need it. The cheat meal gets the carb burning hormones flowing and tricks your body into thinking you are getting more food and thus that your metabolism can still be rocking. Make if the last meal of the day and have water with it. I have mine every second saturday. Health Question & Answer

Do you know what gives your body energy.? CARBOHYDRATES! They "hydrate" your body. That is where your body gets its energy from. Even if you are trying to lose weight, you still need carbs to survive. You can decrease your carbs, but not too much! It's very good to eat your veggies and protein, but brown rice or beans are forms are carbs that are full of fiber and protein that are great for you! also, try whole grain bread or brown rice, both excellent examples of good carbs. Any more Q's email me plz.Health Question & Answer

This is very simple. Carbs are the most easily digestible form of energy you put into your body. If you don't want to start eating carbs(by the way this will make your stamina for jogging and cardio go up, which will make you burn more fat) try drinking more water.Health Question & Answer

we need carbohydrates in our diets for energy u just need to switch to good low fat whole grain carbs. Any type of bread u can smush up in your hand and make a ball of dough is more on the bad side. Ezekiel is a good brand of whole grain bread or brown rice, stuff like that..
