hey sweety,

I had a weight training sesh with a personal traineryesterday.....and i can hardly move! I did many weights, amongst lifts, squats and curls....I didn't know my butt could hurt so much!

When your new, you should expect to hurt the next day, if not, you have'nt done enough....And if you hurt even more the day after, then you've dont it right!!

So everything is going right so far, if it hurts on 3rd day still, you may have overdone it, but no pain no gain, and as you find it easier, you'll want to step it up again, to rip those muscles again!

I hope you have fun watching your body flex, and build those muscles!!And feel those endorphines kick in!xxxxxxxxxxxxHealth Question & Answer

since you're new to weightlifting your body isn't used to the stress that it encounters working out. Starting out you should probably just do two exercises and only two sets of them. Do that for a couple of weeks and then you can do more exercises and sets within your workout. When you overtrain, your body will be sore like that for a reason. You should take a couple of weeks to get your body ready until it is used to working out. From there you can increase weight, reps, sets, etc.

To help with the soreness you can stretch your biceps by holding your arm straight out in front of you with your palm facing up. Then point your fingers to the ground and use your other hand to press on the palm of that hand. This will stretch your bicep and help to increase the blood flow and reduce your soreness some.

If you are new to weight lifting it is no surprise that your arms are feeling sore. This is normal. in fact, when you do your next work out and work a different part of your body, no doubt that will be sore too. Don't worry too much about this as your muscles will get used to you lifting weights and soon you will discover that following your workouts your muscles no longer ache. With regard to your diet it is important to eat protein as this is what you need to build muscle, however, do not forget to incorporate plenty of carbs into your diet as these will give you the energy you need work out. You should aim to have a carbs-protein ratio of 2:1. If you are interested in bulking up check out my blog for some more info. www.simplesecrets2hugemuscles.blogspot.c...Health Question & Answer

It is good to feel a burn after doing weights, especially if it is your first time. The only thing is that you should work other muscles this week. For example tonight you could do skullcrushers and tricep extensions for your triceps. Bench press, flys and incline press can be done for your pecs, also work your calfs, hamstrings, quads, abs and your back, but make sure you give yourself the weekend off because your body adapts when it rests.Health Question & Answer

get as much protien before you lift.. after wont hurt eather.. but yes you are doing the right thing.. you want to focus on specific muscle groups each day.. now tomorrow do your chest or back .. then next week go back to your biceps. your muscles need time to heal that is why they are so sore. your muscles get tiny tears in them when you lift and those tiny tears fill in with muscle tissue that is why they need time to rest and repair.Health Question & Answer

you have ripped your biceps/triceps. this will settle in a day or two, its exactly what you want to do if you want to get muscle mass. well done. go and do your legs today to give your upper body a rest, keep up with the protein foods. Health Question & Answer

well it is going to hurt for a lil bit , till your body gets used to it . just remember repetition is better in the long run for your body rather than bombard your body with more than you can handle ! Health Question & Answer

if it hurts it works.....no its totally normal...eat a banana its filled with potassium and its good for your joints.......also you should already know milk helps build strong bones.....also drink lots of water
you should probably only weight lift every other day to be on the safe side!!!!!!!!!!!!!Health Question & Answer

Hey man,

Dont do just biceps alone on one day, its kinda a waste of time. You see, biceps are a very small muscle group compared to the rest of your body. They dont take that much to work good, and they DEFINETLY dont need 45 reps!!! From now on combine your bicep workout with a workout of a larger muscle group, say your back perhaps, since a lot of exercises for your back use your biceps anyway! BUT to stay on topic, usually biceps can be good if you only hit around 3-6 sets if your just starting to lift. Do around 8-10 reps, 12 is a bit much. Try doing 3 sets of 8 reps of straight bar curls, and then 3 sets of 10 with dumbell curls or preacher curls. REMEMBER.....dont listen to everything you read in lifting sites and magazines....those guys are pros and having been doing that stuff for a long time. Slow and steady wins the race. As for eating, if your really into this you can spend 30 bucks on some whey protien and have a shake after your workout, other wise find some tuna and some simple carbs. Reason for this is rite after a workout you have about an hour that you wanna quickly get something into your system, and since simple carbs such as fruit get through your system faster than complex carbs, they hit the money. The egg is a good idea for the protein though. Peanut Butter takes forever to digest, so DO NOT TAKE IT AFTER LIFTING. Lots of bodybulding eat small amounts of peanut butter before bed, as it takes so long to digest that it keeps your system feeding and doesnt allow your body to use any of your muscle or burn any more calories than you want. Hope it helped!Health Question & Answer
