I've lost over 20 pounds in 8 weeks doing the following 7 things:

1) Drink nothing besides water and tea (no soft drinks, juice, alcohol, etc.)

2) Do 20 minutes of fast walking first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and do not eat for 1 hour afterword (because your body will continue to burn fat calories for that 1 hour).

4) Increase your intake of good fats, while reducing the intake of bad fats. The only fat you should be eating are omega 3s and omega 6s. Good sources include salmon and flax seed oil.
