How do I stop overeating?!


Question: How do I stop overeating.?
I never had this problem until the last few months - I am eating more than I need to. I eat when I am not hungry because meals are being served, or because I am bored or lonely. I want to stop, but I haven't been able to. I haven't gained tons of weight, but I am bloated, and I don't feel as good about myself as I used to.

Anyone been through this or have any suggestions.?Health Question & Answer

Try and pack yourself small snacks for the day. Then just eat these small smacks all day. It's ok to do this and it's actually really good for your metabolism. That way you are still eating - filling the boredom & loneliness ... hopfully this fase with pass and you'll go back to normal (I just did the same... It sounds like you need to get out of the house more. Make new friends and keep in touch with current friends. You could also take an exercise class or a learn a new hobby. Check if your city offers community education courses. Mine does, and there are lots of cheap classes to take, from yoga to jewelry-making.

If I had food in front of me, I suppose I would do the same, too. Who buys food.? Are you cooking for yourself.? (Don't make so much of it.)

Realize that if you have to eat something, at least fill yourself with something healthy. Eventually you're going to get use to eating "a lot" -- and it might catch up with you.. :-( Health Question & Answer

I drink a lot of water sometimes. especially mineral water. also, I just like walking. yes. i tend to eat junk too, but i am going for almonds, and bread, and pretzals, and fruit. in the end,i feel like my emotions make me eat more too.....

It's ok to snack, just make sure it's healthy. I love raisins and apples and neither are bad for me. As for meals, eat on smaller plates and don't go for seconds. Health Question & Answer
