The reason it seems that Zoloft (along with other anti-depressant) makes you gain weight is because they make everything slow down in your body like your metabolism. It also increases your appetite. In orfer to maintain your weight you need ot keep in mind that you will be alot more hungry and tired (might want to sleep more) so try to keep moving and eat healthy. Keep your hunger satisfied with healthy high protein low fat/carb snacks and sip 8 8onz water bottles during the day and that should help you not gain weight and the meds will help you stay balanced emotionally.Health Question & Answer

I took Zoloft for years. It doesn't work. I did gain weight. Now I have learned to exercise, stick to a vegetarian diet and stay away from alcohol.
