You have to EAT HEALTHY, and EXCERCISE!!!!!!!! Its more about a lifestyle change than anything else.

For a healthy diet, you need to be eating small to medium meals regularly. 4 or even 5 times a day. Each meal (apart from breakfast which should preferably be fibre rich), should contain a balanced ammount of carbohydrates for energy, (from potatoes, rice and pasta, etc) protien (from fish, chicken, occassional red meat is fine, soya is good too) and plenty of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants (simple fresh fruit and veg). Eat like this and make sure you are well hydrated (fruit juice is as good as water, any fluid counts, but some fluids have negative effects too, such as alcohol or caffiene rich drinks.)

You can have a wide range of healthy meals with this, from Thai, Chinese, Italian, British, Indian, etc. Just make sure each meal contains balanced ammounts of these three. On the bright side too, fresh veg and rice and pasta is a lot cheaper than crappy junk food!

This doesn't mean you cant have chocolate or pizza/takeaway/etc, just save them as very occassional treats.

The big secret to keeping a healthy weight and staying healthy is EXCERCISE, particularly cardio excercise (running, swimming, cycling, etc).

Cardio exercise will not only burn calories and reduce your body fat levels, but will also improve your resting heart rate and lung function, making you healthier.

Strength training will help you strengthen and tone your muscles. Heavy weights with short reps/sets will build your fast twitch muscle fibres and build size, power and strength, but if you use light to medium weights with lots of reps/sets, you wont build size, but you will tone up your body and train muscle endurance. This will obviously make you 'look' healthier and more toned, but will also increase your metabolism (as your muscles demand more energy) so you will burn calories faster.

As far as excercise goes, you should aim to strike a balance between cardio training and strength training, this way you will build good strong and toned muscle, but also keep your body fat levels down and increase your heart and lung performance, making you much fitter and healthier.

Hope this helps.

why does everyone today want to feel stick thin.?
i know exactly how you feel. all of my friends are extremely thin(i'm 12, so most of them are about 90-110lbs) and im way bigger than them(173lbs, to be exact), which sucks because im the fattest out of all of them.
this is what my mom is doing to try to get me loose weight:
not give me any sweets, give me a dinner of steamed veggies and half of a skinless chicken breast. and for lunch rice cakes.

i think this will probably work if you dont eat anything else(i do eat aton of other things, so that's why im still huge.)

GOOD LUCK.

btw, even if you dont loose any weight be proud to be an original.Health Question & Answer

Personally I think your problem is the fact that you feel pressured by people who you choose to socialise with.

First thing that caught my eye, is the fact that you never even mentioned your weight or height. I am willing to bet that half of your friends are size zero stick insects. And I do struggle to understand why young people of your age actually feel pressured to lose weight to fit in, especially when it is very clear you shouldn't be trouble by this at all.

work on filling up on fresh fruits and veggies first THEN eat protein. try to cut down (but not eliminate) carbohydrates and get as much exersize as you can. see if you can get a friend to walk a lap outside during lunch time. find out if the YMCA offers a teen fitness program. find a friend who wants to join you in being healthy! Ask your family doctor what you can doo too-they can set you up with a nutrishionist too.Health Question & Answer

Try taking up a sport that you enjoy playing. Running is a great choice, get some running clothes and shoes on and go out for a 30- 1hr run or more or less everyday and try eating healthy food on a consistent basis. Try to drink about 80 ounces of water a day, yes bathroom visits more but you will jump start your metabolism and feel much healthier, and I know it doesn't taste like soda. Health Question & Answer

Exercise those areas, it will tone them up and make them more attractive rather than losing weight which is more of an uncontrollable process. With exercise you decide where it happens and how much. Any execise involving the areas should work, sit ups are easy to do at home etc.

Dieting is not usually healthy and not the solution to things unless you are quite overweight.Health Question & Answer

It's called exercising.

Run, do yoga, play soccer, basketball, etc... Just get moving.

Oh, and don't diet or lift weights. You're too young for that. It can stunt your growth and hurt your health.Health Question & Answer

Dont follow any fad diet like atkins etc
Your priority should not be to get skinny but to get healthy, once you are healthy, the body will follow!

It takes a lot of motivation and will power so you have to have a string enough reason for it to work.

You need to give up all sugar (this doesnt only mean chocolate bars, but also carbs like pasta, pizza, potatoes, bread), only eat fruit as a total treat, maybe once a week, drink nothing but water, drink at least 2 litres a day, and absolutely no cow's milk, dairy, cheeses of any kind or any meats. Fish is OK. No eggs.

Your body will become alkaline and you will thrive.

I was very ill once and was diagnised with Chronic fatigue Syndrome. Turns out that;s just what doctors tend to say when they cant work out whats wrong with you.

I went on to study nutrition, raw foodists and blood and oh mu goodness do we eat a lot of crap we dont need.

I know many people who survive on the caveman's diet and their body and mind and overall health is amazing.

It takes a change of mindset, it's scary doing something different from what the masses do, but hey - you cant get me ill now, I havent had a cold or the flu or a headache or anything since 2005, ot even the sniffles and neitherhave my husband or children.

I hope this helped...Health Question & Answer
