Lunges and squats= bigger or slimmer?!


Question: Lunges and squats= bigger or slimmer.?
does squats and lunges makes your legs bigger.? I'm 16, female, 5'1 and i weight bout 50-52 kg. My legs are pretty fat, my lower legs are like big and so as my upper legs. I want them to be lean and skinny, say like toned and slim. I have a skinny stomach though, it's just my legs and arms I'm worried about.
I really want to have slimmer legs but I'm afraid that if i do squats and lunges they would just make my legs even bigger. for those of you who had tried to do these exercise did it actually work.? and how long did it take you to see the results.?.?.?

Hey angela, first, you're a girl.. your legs won't do exactly what a guys do, they won't get huge and muscular, mainly because you aren't able to do the amount of weight a guy can do... unless of course you use steroids. which are BAD!!!! any-who, if you want to slim down, i suggest lunges and squats, but with little to no weight... but I also suggest doing this after a cardio exercise. Jump rope is one of the best exercises for cardio. That and running. What you're aiming for, is to sweat a lot and then target the areas you want to burn fat... ie. legs. but yeah... don't worry, you won't end up looking like arnold.Health Question & Answer

The hips and legs are where your body likes to store excess weight.
Once you lose the fat surrounding this area you will reveal beautifully toned muscle.
The only discouraging part is that if you do squats before you lose the fat, it will appear that you are getting slightly larger in those areas. After around five weeks of fat burning cardio, you will notice more shape and less fat.
Don't eat fat and your body won't deposit the fat there. Your body can't do anything with fat. It is hard to dispose of once it is in your system.Health Question & Answer
