The prescription strength is 120 mg per capsule.
Both to be used with up to 3 meals per day.
The research showed that any more than this was not any more effective for weight loss.
But 120 mg does not have double the effect of 60mg.
60 mg is supposed to block 25% of fat absorption, whereas 120 mg can only block 30%.

Angelgirl is correct. Taking more than what is recommended will play havoc with your digestion. You do need to have fat in your meal for Alli to work. It's primary mechanism is to prevent the body from absorbing the fat and getting rid of it. That is part of the reason people complain about having "greasy" or "fatty" stools when they take Alli (OTC) or Xenical (Rx).
If the thought process is that the more you take of the tablets/capsules the more weight you will lose - it is a faulty way of thinking. This article seems to imply that it will speed up your digestion system. Basically you will pass food through you and also feel very sick. It would be hard on your body, dangerous and it will not affect your weight loss. It will mean that you will use the tables three times as fast, and you will be still be at the same point as if you the normal dose. Waste and dangerous at the same time

If I am not mistaken when it came over the counter it came in half the dose of a prescription amount.Health Question & Answer
