Question: Will I LOSE weight by doing this.?
im a 14 yr old girl and i really want to lose like 20 pounds by christmas.

this is what im gonna do :

First 2 weeks:
Only eat tuna and drink water (everyone says it works)


Rest of the time:

Eat salad, tuna, water, and bananas


i just picked random helathy things.

but ya im too busy too exercise and the weather is getting really cold where i live and i cant join a gym.


so does anyone have any tips for me.?

omg your only 14 hun, you really shouldnt be dieting at that age..
mind you, im 15 and a half and i diet like crazy LOL.
i must say, limiting calorie intake helps alot & choosing the right, healthy foods is also VERY benefitial. A teenagers nutritional needs are vital, so yes that would be a good dieting plan.

also, you may be eating too much tuna, try and eat green vegetables, fruits + veg which contain alot of water help the most, cucumber, watermelon, peaches etc...

A tuna, cucumber + sweetcorn sandwich on brown bread would be excellent & fills you up too. try not to put butter on the bread.

OH, and im starting the master cleanse/lemonade diet in 3 weeks, so you might wanna check that out. you make your own lemonade at home and you don't eat anything for 10-45 days. im gonna aim for 21 days! The lemonade keeps hunger at bay and you lose alot of weight!

Okay, yes you'll loose weight, but not 20 lbs by Christmas. The only way you'll achieve this is if you throw 30-100 or running a day in the mix. And DO NOT eat bananas, a lot of people think they're healthy, but not for loosing weight. They STOP your metabolism, which will cause you to store fat. Here's a tip: You are 14! Worry about school not your weight. Besides, diets don't work. You could maybe start playing an indoor sport if the weather is cold, though I'm 14 too and I know that's not really likely. i doubt that you will lose 20 pounds! you will only do that by exercising and by that i mean like busting your butt 2 the point were its just waaaay to impossible for you to even take!

i don't know about the tuna and drinking water. this is the first time i hear this... you can lose weight but you have to eat in portions. don't starve your self because if you do every time that you do eat you are going to over eat because you are not putting anything in your stomach! you need to eat healthy and snack in between meals!

if you don't eat all 5 meals and all the things that they tell us to eat you will be weak because our bodies need all those different vitamins and nutrients not just one.

Water is a great way to curb your appetite, but your body does need food for energy especially if you are going to be exercising. My suggestion would be to adjust your cal intake according to the amount of exercise that you are going to be doing each day. And by breaking up your meals into five small meals vs three larger meals, your metabolism will stay high and your will have more energy and will be able to burn more cals.

by starving your self and limiting your food intake your body will actually go into survival mood and take any cal it can and turn them into fat, good if you are lost in the woods, but not so much if you want to loose weight.

I would say cardio over weight lifting will be your best bet to loose weight. This can be as easy as going for a run in the morning or walking to work ( or parking on the far end of the parking lot) and taking the stairs vs the elevator.

lastly keep a food diary of what you eat, try to eat healthier ( check out a health magazine for tips) dark greens, grains, nuts, fruits and avoid fast food or if you must chose a healthier option like salad with little or no dressing ( that is the fat part!) check out the k.p.org for more info on food diaries.

If you don't want to gain the weight back you have to make a "quick fix" into a life style change. you CAN do it, with the right mind set anyone can achieve a goal of weight loss and you will look and feel better with more energy, better skin and a different prospective on life.

If you do everything right, you can lose about 3 lbs a week and still be healthy. And the weight doesn't have to come back, ever. When I was your age I was about 30-40 lbs overweight, but I lost it all and have generally kept it off ever since, with only minor setbacks. Now people always say I'm skinny lol.

Don't do a tuna and water diet. Tuna tends to have a relatively high amount of mercury in it. Your body gets rid of mercury slowly, so eating tuna too often will cause a mercury build-up which is unhealthy. Besides, just eating fish (or any other meat) would cause you to become malnourished. Humans are omnivores, not carnivores or herbivores. Our bodies need a variety of meat, vegetables, fruits, grains, etc. to be healthy.

The most important thing is to eat REAL food. No processed or junky foods. Eat at least one salad each day. You can even add nuts or pieces of chicken for protein. Don't use conventional salad dressing. Add olive oil, pepper, and cajun seasoning (if you like spicy food), all to your taste. This combination tastes really good, and it's also really healthy. also, and this is very important: Eat about 6 smalls meals throughout the day instead of 3 big meals. Your body will not try to store as much fat this way.

Drink a lot of water. If you can, drink real green tea that your brew at home. Maybe your parents would be interested in making it. You can brew a whole pitcher of green tea and keep it in the fridge.

As for exercise, the best thing you can do to lose weight is to do a HIIT running session every other day. HIIT means High Intensity Interval Training. The whole routine only lasts about 10-15 minutes, but it's VERY effective. Start out by jogging for about 3 mintues. Then for about 20 seconds, sprint as fast as you possibly can. Then slow down to a jog again for another 3 minutes. If you're really exhausted, walking is fine (but jog if you can). But after those 3 minutes, sprint for another 20 seconds. Then do it all one more time. So basically you jog, sprint, jog, sprint, jog, sprint, then you're done. By then end of this you'll be very exhausted. This might be one of the hardest, most exhausting thing you've ever done, but it only lasts like 12 minutes, and you only have to do it once every other day. And it's worth it! It really works. This routine will actually make you lose more weight than just boring walking or jogging for an hour. There are studies proving it.
