I never had a problem with gainig weight after quitting smoking..I actually used to jog prior to, during, and after quitting..probably about 2-3 weeks after not having a stog at all did I really notice the difference it made in my running, but Idont know if the fact that I had already been running before and during being a smoker contributed to tht short period of time or not...good luck with both staying smoke free and jogging! :<)Health Question & Answer

I quit smoking when cigs went up to 35 cents a pack. They must be twice that by now!

I mention that only to show how long ago it was! So I don't remember the details clearly except that I gained weight at first then lost it. I don't recall how it felt. But I do recall friends telling me that I seemed to be having fewer problems with quitting than they did. I'm not an addictive type.

personally i never smoked, but i dont see a problem with running while or right after you quit. the air intake would probably be problematic, but the more you run the better it will get, plusss it will probably help you take your mind off smoking!Health Question & Answer

Just start jogging a little at a time. It doesn't matter if you quit smoking or not. But don't plan on losing a lot of weight by jogging and quitting smoking; exercise and quitting smoking will increase your appetite. Health Question & Answer

I am a smoker and still exercise everyday. Just because you quit smoking does not mean it is going to be hard to lose weight. You also need to have a good diet.Health Question & Answer
