Question: Skim vs. Whole... CONFUSED!!!.?
I recently switched from 2% milk to skim, since skim has 0 saturated fat compared to 15% of daily saturated fat PER serving... and I drink a lot of milk. Isn't skim better than whole milk.? Cuz last night I read in a health magazine that 1 healthy change you should make is switch FROM skim TO whole milk!!! Isn't that wrong.? I'm so confused... thanks! ?Health Question & Answer

The only time whole milk should be drank instead of low fat or skim milk is if you are a toddler over the age of 12 months and aren't breastfeeding or drinking a toddler formula.

People might like to drink whole milk because they think it tastes better. That might be their opinion on taste, but when it comes to nutrients, skim milk is a better choice, because it has the same amount of vitamin D and Calcium, with less calories and none of the fat.

WHOLE. The people above do not know what they are talking about. The reason whole milk is better is because it contains HEALTHY fats originally.

To make skim milk, the dairy industry removes these healthy fats, which makes the milk a blue color. To make the milk look like milk again, they add titanium dioxide (white paint) to it, which is very unhealthy.

Skim milk is the absolute worst type of milk to drink, do research on this if you do not believe me, don't blindly believe people like the above who simply think something is healthy because it is "fat free". With that logic, "diet" coke would be healthy too.Health Question & Answer

whole has half the original fat
semi has half of it
skimmed has almost none

i drink semi at home cos its what my family buy but for lunch i buy a pint of millk to drink and i get the skimmed one. there is v little taste diffeence between the two but skimmed is definitley better.
semi has 47cals in 100ml. whereas skimmed has 35. whole i would guess 70.
