Night eating. PLEASE help!?!


Question: Night eating. PLEASE help!.?
I am trying to lose weight. I say trying because I am not succeeding. I restrict my calorie/fat intake up until about 9pm, then I binge. It happens almost every night. For some reason, I get ravenous at night and can't control it. It's very depressing because It's misery during the day to restrict etc... and then I through it all away by eating junk at night. Then I don't lose weight.

Please help me get over this night time eating.?

I'm even contemplating starting going to bed at around 7pm just to avoid it.Health Question & Answer

Sleeping at 7pm is a good idea however, you cannot do an activity for long which you dont enjoy, so how about finding an activity after 9pm which you love. say dont stay at home and go out for a walk, or buy a big 500/1000 piece puzzle and start solving it after 9pm and spend 1 hr each day. or start playing any online puzzle game (Brain teasers gets your metabolism going and divert your attentions form food).

When you feel like this at night, force yourself to get busy doing something else. Go jump in the shower, run to the gas station and fill up your car, do something that is going to take up time. It's a control issue, you are controlling yourself all day and by the end of the day you just want to say screw it and throw your hands in the air. Night time is the worst time to binge because you don't burn anything off in your sleep. Maybe loosen reins a little on your daily routine so you don't feel so strapped at the end of the day. I am the exact same way. I can go all day without feeling hungry, and right around 8 or 9 I start to think about food food food!!! Here is what helps me to avoid eating:

Diet sodas. Even if you have to drink three of them, it's better than eating food. They taste sweet and give you something to occupy yourself. Zero calories

Pickles. A great big one is only 5 calories, and you can nibble on it for half an hour! They taste great and have next to no calories, so you feel like you're eating, but with no consequences.

Find things to distract yourself. TV is NOT a good idea because of all the food commercials. Watch a movie or get on Yahoo Answers! What do you think I'm doing on here.? Avoiding eating, of course! ;)

Well, i think you should try to munch on healthy foods. They are very good actually! it will satisfy all your cravings! also if you freeze grapes, they taste exactly like ice cream! trust me! You could have your dinner late, so you will be so full, you wont want to eat. Make sure tis a healthy dinner though!

Another idea is gum. Or this is what helps me. There are these calories free drinks you can get at like albertsons or walmart. you make them yourself. all you need is a water piture that can hold 2 quarts of water. Fill it up with 2 quarts of water and add the mixer you buy. then mix. and enjoy! (these directions will be on the mixers) fill up a big water bottle with the drink and drink it. it will fill you up! and you wont want to eat. If you do eat hungry afterwards, just fill up your water bottle again.

okay well to avoid night time binges you should eat more during the day. count your calories...to lose weight a women should be eating 1200-1500 calories a day. make sure your eat a good breakfast to(its the most important meal) if you eat healthy things during the day you will most likely not be hungry at 9. a trick that keeps me from eating bad late night is i brush my teeth and get ready for bed and stay away from the kitchen. oh and get all the bad stuff out of the house! if its not there you wont eat it! good luck and i hope this helped!Health Question & Answer

I go through the EXACT same thing.
At night time, make sure you're occupied doing something that's keeping you busy, unlike watching T.V. or being on the computer. You just naturally want to pick up something to eat when you are.
Maybe a run on the treadmill for 20 minutes each night would help; You'd want water, ice cold water when you're done, not junk food.
Maybe clean parts of your house, or do homework. Maybe even read.
