Teen trying to lose weight?!

Question: Teen trying to lose weight.?
im 16 and im trying to lose weight. i weigh 105 pounds and have a 35%BMI according to my school nurse (we just got health reports back). im 5'1. so far i've been eating a kashi or kellogg (90 calorie) breakfast bar for breakfast and for lunch i usually half a mix of celery and carrots, a serving of health cereal (either kellogs or cinnamon puffins or kashi) and sometimes i'll have a small piece of low fat cheese. for dinner i def splurge a little. tonight i had pasta and a small piece of brownie. every night i excercise for at least a half hour but i study while i do it so i speed walk with arm weights that weight 3 pounds each. i alternate with bicep curls and just holding them in my hands while i walk normally. the last ten minutes after i finish studying i do a fast jog for 10 minutes. obviously this takes place on the treadmill. tonight i worked out for 55 minutes. do you guys have any way i could improve myself.? i've only been doing this for a week and i haven't lost any weight which i kinda expected. any good low calorie foods you'd reccomend.?! thanks a bunch guys!Health Question & Answer

Keep it simple. Cut back on fast food, high fructose corn syrup and limit the intake of red meats. Sure you can treat yourself to yummy stuff here and there, but don't splurge. Stick with serving sizes and if you must have seconds, don't go crazy on it. Whole wheats are your best friends and so is fish and natural (or as close as you can get) foods.

I eat lots of fruits and veggies; whether they be through a drink that has a serving or two or the real thing. I don't exercise a lot at all, but I'm sure trekking back and forth from school should suffice!

All I've done in the past year was eat right. I lost 30+ pounds and knocked 7 points off of my total cholesterol. You can do it! Good luck :D

At 105 and 5'1, you're BMI is nowhere near 35. It's closer to 20. The bulk of your calories should be consumed in the morning after a cardio session. The most efficient calorie burning occurs first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. you will also want to increase your water intake.Health Question & Answer
