In order to lose weight, you must create a calorie deficit. It is easier and healthier to cut back your calorie intake a little bit at a time. Every 3,500 calories is equivalent to one pound. Health Question & Answer

It all depends on you really. You should calculate your BMI (Body Mass Index) and then it depends on that as to whether your classed as overweight, normal or under weight.

BMI Categories:
Underweight = <18.5
Normal weight = 18.5 - 24.9
Overweight = 25-29.9

If you want to loose weight you need to use up more energy/calories than you consume (eat). Basically the normal input for women is 2000calories per day. If you want to loose weight drop down to 1200-1500. Dont go to below 1000 or it can seriously affect your body and organs.

How can anyone say.? We don't know anything about you and someones ideal weight can vary so much. People have mentioned the BMI, its a reasonable start point but is flawed, the England rugby team that won the 2003 world cup were all clinicaly obese by BMI but were among the fitest athletes in the world.
