Most of our teeth are molars like cows and horses for eating vegetable matter.
the second most number is incisors like rabbits for eathing vegetables.

BUT

we have four canines for tearing apart meat like cats and dogs.

Soooo

Should our diets consist of mostly vegetables with some lean meats thrown in.?Health Question & Answer

Answers:
I believe so. Our diets should consist of a variety of foods including lean meants and lots of vegetables. Our teeth also aren't too happy when we drink soda and eat candy, and neither does our body, so...I think your theory holds some validity.Health Question & Answer

Cut, tear and grind - you are right we are omnivorous. The incisors are sharp to cut into raw vegetables, and the molar for grinding. The canine are pointed and sharp for tearing meats and again the molar for grinding. Health professionals have come to the realization that a diet consisting of too much soft meals tend to create problems for our teeth and gum. also consistent diets lacking meats and raw vegetables leads to poor health. Health Question & Answer

I'm a vegan and I'm biased.

I eat a plant/grain-rich diet and I'm doing really well. I don't understand the canine argument that people come up with. Just because our teeth are named "canine" does not mean they are. Our so-called canines don't look anything like the super-sharp, pointy teeth that are typically seen in dogs, cats, lions, etc. Those animals are designed to rip and tear raw flesh. We cannot.

But to answer your question, yes. We should totally lean towards eating more plant-based foods. It's much healthier for us. Just because we "evolved" with eating meat doesn't mean we should. Health Question & Answer

yes i think you are right.
you need meat to be completely healthy.
i hate when people say that our teeth tell us that we should not eat meat. if we were only mean to eat vegetables, we would have ALL flat teeth.
