I want to benchpress more weight?!


Question: I want to benchpress more weight.?
right now i max at about 150 but want to do 200
so if im very deciplined and workout about 5-6 days a week how long will it take to get to 200
and please dont say it all depends........

just keep on with 150 until you can do it like butter and then got up by 5 or 10 lbs every few days until you hit your goal.

and if you really want to see your bench max go up start doing 10 reps with the bar alone (assuming its like 45 lbs) and then add 5 lbs and do 10 more. all the way up until you have 25 lbs on the bar, then do the same thing but backwards. it'll build your endurance and help you lift more.Health Question & Answer

I could get you doing 200 in 4 to 6 weeks. You need to first stop working out your chest 6 days a week and only work your chest every other day. That will allow the pecs to heal and grow between workouts. Each workout should be 3 sets of 10 with 80% max, 90% and 100% max weight. Try and add 10lbs to your max every week. Even if you can't do the full 10 on the last max set. You need to do flys and dumbell sets as well to strenghten the stablizer muscles. also 3X10. Whats your bar's weight.?
I would recommend lifting 155lbs at 5x8 for 3 out of the 5 days and try adding 10lbs to each side in-between days.
also, work on your lifting form while on the bench. feet planted, back arched, wrists straight, bar 2 inches from chest and fully extend the arm.
Work on curling in between the sets of 5. either bishop or DB will do.
Whenever you have free time just do 2 sets of 50 of free bar. With a 45lbs bar...Health Question & Answer
