#2) pinch your hand for a minute. You will find that as you continue to pinch, the initial pain you experienced is not as severe. By the end of the minute, you hardly feel it at all. Why is that.? It is because the body has a natural reaction to prolonged discomfort. Over time, continued discomforts become less uncomfortable as the body adapts to negative stimulation. What this means for your munchy problem is simple: in situations where you crave foods and you know you are not hungry, decide you are not going to eat right then and then distract yourself for 10 minutes with something else. Read a book, watch tv, go for a walk... doesn't really matter what you do. The point is to ride the craving out until it isn't as bad. Try to find something to do.. or start a project (cleaning out closets) or just find a new hobby. Go outside ride a bike.. call a friend. Just do something dont sit around..

grab something that would be healthier. sometimes i would want an ice cream but instead i would have grapes. i'd still eat, but it'd be healthier. or focus on something else.Health Question & Answer
