21 years old and at a playground?!

Question: 21 years old and at a playground.?
I have a kind of dumb question. Recently I've been doing home exercises and getting into shape. My goal is to reach a very low weight, and to have muscle, like a gymnast.

Home exercises are fine, but they're no fun at all. I found running and climbing to be quick calorie burners, and I'm often jumping the fence in my back yard.

Now I'm considering going to a playground because the monkey bars are safe and sturdy, and there are elevated areas for climbing. I see the playground as more of an obstacle course, but regardless, I'm a 21 year old man who isn't people friendly.

Is it weird if a 21 year old man goes to a playground to work out.?Health Question & Answer

Personally for me, I wouldnt think it weird at all. Its your health, and if you want to work out at the playground then its your choice. People have strange imaginations and get pretty suspicious today, unfortunately. But you can go in the morning when nobody is there. And I dont believe that the playground equipment isnt sturdy enough for adults, seeing as how my aunt was playing on it like last spring and it didnt fall apart.Health Question & Answer

I think it's a great idea. I would plan on going in the early morning, late in the evening (as late as dusk, if it closes then) or during school hours so there aren't a lot of little kids. As long as you're dressed appropriately (no tank tops or less!) and don't look like you're trying to be a predator, I think even most parents wouldn't worry at all. The way the town I live in is, I wouldn't be surprised if a cop stared at you for a few minutes.Health Question & Answer

I don't have a problem with it. I've seen joggers stop early in the morning at a playground and do pull ups on the bars, etc. Some playgrounds also have workout courses and jogging tracks.Health Question & Answer

I've used them for chinups during morning runs at a local park and I'm 55. It doesn't matter. The only people out there with me at 0-dark-30 are other runners.

Doing it during the day when kids are around might arouse some suspicion. Health Question & Answer

I don't see a problem with it, but any mothers with there children at the playground might, maybe just go when there is no one there.?.?
I think that its great that you want to improve your health by working out!Health Question & Answer

Whatever works, but be careful when you go. There are so many weirdos out there that parents can get pretty suspicious.Health Question & Answer

That sounds like fun!!!

But dangerous, too. See, the playground was built with kids in mind. Kids are learning how to play, learning how to interact with each other. When engineers designed the monkey bars, they had little hands and little heads and such in mind. They probably weren't thinking about a strapping lad such as yourself swinging himself around like an olympic gymnast! :)

It's good that you're into fitness and want to better yourself. Just be careful for the children - the playground is their turf. You won't see them running into a gym to play on the eqiupment. :ob

Some child could get seriously hurt if you swing around and nail him in the head, ya know. Just be careful. Maybe go at night when there's no kids around.

also in this day and age...if you go while kids are there you could be seen as some kind of predator. Just be wary.Health Question & Answer

Well your answer to this question is coming from a 13 year old.
Actually, no it's not. But little kids are just scared of strangers or anybody different from them. So they are going to be a little freaked out. also, parents also tell their kids to stay away from strangers so that's just going to add to the awkwardness. Additionally, people just LOVE TO GOSSIP THESE DAYS. Parents will probably just make up some story like, you said the kids couldn'y play on the monkey bars or something, and people are going to think your a jerk, even bigger if you already are one since your not people friendly (no offense). But really, it's not. I would encourage you to do it, but with all the horrible people who have no life and will just make up any story to talk to people who hate them, well, they ruin life for everybody. So the choice is really up to you. GOOD LUCK! HOPE THAT HELPS! XD!Health Question & Answer
