Answers:
Set some goals. Goals are important to everyone because without them people lack direction. They can be either long term or short term.

You have set your goals so staying focused is essential to losing weight. it is important to keep them in mind at all times.

Another great way to stay focused is to start a weight loss journal - this ensures that motivation is kept high.

Analyze your mind and try to find out what obstacles are preventing you from taking a strong decision to lose weight.

Get rid of all those negative thoughts. Analyze each of these thoughts and ask yourself: is there really any valid reason why you believe so.?

Fill your mind with new, positive thoughts. Stop telling yourself that you will 'try' to lose weight; instead, say: 'I WILL lose weight, no matter what others tell me. I WILL lose weight because I want to look good and feel better. I WILL lose weight so that no one can ever point a finger at my belly'. Giving such specific and strong instructions to your mind will help you lose weight very quickly!

I got this motivation from Dr. Laura, even though I don't agree with her a lot of the time. It's very simple:

MOVE MORE, EAT LESS.

It works -- don't worry about going to the gym and staying on a strict diet. Take a walk around the block. If you are going to eat a hamburger sandwich and chips for dinner, eat 3/4 of the hamburger and about half the usual amount of chips. Basically, you don't have to give up any food; just eat less.

Dr. Laura also suggested that if you are really, really hungry before a meal, eat an apple and drink a glass of water before the meal.

This really works. I have lost 15 pounds in 2 months and feel great and don't even feel as though I am dieting. I did lose weight faster in the beginning but am still losing on a regular basis and feel this is a diet I can live with forever. Start the exercise slowly and increase as you feel you can handle. Don't ruin it by starting an exercise program that you know you will not be able to stick to. My exercise is walking, and a little light yoga --something I enjoy and don't dread having to do.
