Healthy Diet/Crash?? QUICK Q?!

Question: Healthy Diet/Crash.?.? QUICK Q.?
I have had an Eating Disorder for almost 3 years now
& recently i have been binging and purging a lot.
I gained about 8 lbs...whether it is real fat or water weight i am not sure, but i don't care.

Usually i just eat 0-300 calories and lose "weight" in a week, but i am trying really hard to do this a healthy way.
I can't get therapy or work on the mental aspect of my ED right now, so please don't suggest that.

All i want to know is.....
How long does it take to lose REAL fat.? Like excess hip/thigh fat

&
I am 5'9 and 16 years old, to be losing weight how many calories is still healthy.?
I am not going to rush into eating 1,000 calories a day yet, but what would be considered enough to be healthy, but keep me losing weight.?Health Question & Answer

Hi there,

I cannot relate to you about the binging and purging part but I can relate to you about losing weight when I was a teen. You see..I wanted to lose really fast , so I thought to myself how can I do that. At first I thought I would eat less and go on a celery diet. It didn't work. All through high school, I can't lose weight like my friends did. But when I went to college, I took a Nutrition course that literally open my mind about food and the human body.

To your question..."how long does it take to lose real fat.?" Each body is different from the other. Time passes by and before you know it, its gone[ the fat].

When I was in high school I was short and almost 200 pounds. After college ...still short but about 160pounds. I was in an association and had some pe classes....I got active in college and eating healthy. I stayed way from sodas and once in a while I have fast food. I watched what I ate even in finals. Right now, I work and have errands at home..not so active but I'm at 168lbs.

I suggest before you worry about dieting..get healthy..eat right...maybe take a nutrition course with your parents permission. Once your healthy, start exercising {mostly be active like dancing...move you body ...or palliates] and continue eating right. Your body will naturally take its own course. You're still young...be happy

The other question..."to be losing weight how many calories is still healthy.?
I am not going to rush into eating 1,000 calories a day yet, but what would be considered enough to be healthy, but keep me losing weight.?"

Like I said..each body is different from the other. After learning about nutrition, my instructor did pick on key point when wanting to lose FAT. There are good fats about bad fats to the body. Try to look it you online...b/c I forgot -_-'' sorry. Another point is know when you full...meaning I'm done and I'm satisfied. If you're an active person like running a marathon you should have more than 1,500 calories a day. If you're not an active person, you should have about 1,500 calories a day. To me, I usually measure food intake by fist as my portion size with each food group. My instructor also mention to know, love, and care your body because its the only one you have.

I"m sorry to be long winded and I hope that I can help you a bit by giving you information. Make sure you love your body...don't think about how others think of you....because in this world everyone has a different shape....Some might have bigger bust...some might have bigger butt...some might naturally be skinny...all commercials on tv are just what the tv people want you to be.

take a step at a time....take care ^^Health Question & Answer

Women, on average (and you are taller than average) require 1800 calories a day to maintain weight; 1500 to lose weight safely.
As a teen, you need more calories and protein than an adult woman because you are still growing. Calcium, vitamin D and phosphorus are necessary for good bone development. You'll have osteoporosis by the time you are 25 if you keep up your present course (if you don't die from organ failure, first).
A pound of fat is 3500 calories above the daily need. For example, if you were maintaining your weight on 2000 calories per day, you'd have to exceed that over a period of time to gain a pound of fat. If you gained a pound of fat in one week, you'd have to increase the consumption of the basic 14,000 calories by 3500 calories; in other words, you'd take in 17,500 calories that week.Health Question & Answer

Party Girl,

Get over this obsession with your weight, girl! Don't you have any hobbies like swimming or boxing or biking.? If not, please take up a sport or hobby so you can focus on something besides calories in and calories out! What a waste of your precious time that is.

Request a bike for the holidays and get out there riding once or twice a week. Find some good books or mags to read to put your mind on something else. Your photo looks lovely and I find it quite upsetting that you are so obsessed with this weight thing.

Eat fruits and veggies, drink plenty of water, and exercise as part of what you do to live your life. Then GO LIVE IT! Get out there! You are stuck in a whirlpool called weight obsession and you need something to take its place.

You can do it! I have a friend who quit puking and you can do it too!Health Question & Answer
