um well i am so confused . i have had eating disorders for a long time , anorexia for 4 years and got down to 70 pounds at 5-5 and now binged my way up to 5-6 and 137 pounds a! i hate it , and its not just that it ruins my life, i wont see friends because i feel i am fat, i have no boy in my life. have missed so much school in the past due to clinics and hospilization that i dont know anythin- work wise and girl stuff! I feel so stupid , fat and ugly. i dont wanna diet cuz whenever i do i just go binge and eat up to 8000 cals. i just want to be able to eat normally and have fun and not care what others think but the thing is it seems impossible,.i go to this tutorial and have no friends there and all my old friends have dropped me , i am too shy for any boy to fancy me and too fat! i want a life and if not then why cant i die.? i talk to my mum bout it , i love her and i love my dad and sis , so that is good i guess. i hate facebook and seeing all these people i know planning nights out , talking... my last message was a month ago from my 9 year old cousin ! i hate this, i want some friends, i want to be thin, i dont want to binge and above all i want NOT TO CARE WHAT OTHERS THINK!

Firstly, you are NOT fat in the slightest. What you need to do is get healthy- try eating 4 meals a day, don't count calories or anything just eat 4 meals without snacking. Then, add in 30min walks once a day 5 times a week. Drink only water and try for 8-10 glasses a day as this will help your complexion, your skin, hair, everything to look more healthy and you'll feel better.

I really think you should see your doctor, tell him or her about your eating problems and maybe get some counseling for your problems. If you'd like to, you can email me and we can be sort of pen-pals; I can help you through this if you want me to. I'm 14 and a girl.

Lastly, please don't think you're fat because you have a BMI of 21, meaning you're in the perfectly healthy category. So what if your old friends don't like you.? Get out there and talk to some other people! Don't worry about boys, the right one WILL come along when you need him. First, accept that we are all, ourselves, selfish. It is not selfish to want to have "normal" eating habits. Get yourself to a psychologist or other therapist and start some counseling. This problem is not going to just go away. You need to get treatment. You probably know that binge eating is not, in any way, healthy, nor is starving yourself, which is what leads to the binge eating.

Ok, first of all, you are not fat AT ALL. From now on, make yourself ignore the nutritional information on food packets. Eat as many fruits + vegetables as you want - the calories in these are so low that it won't matter. Eat WITH your family, and eat the same portions as they do. If you get hungry, drink a glass of water first to make sure you're not just thirsty, and then have some nuts - they are VERY GOOD for your hair, skin and nails. You will soon be radiant! Eat plenty of whole grains like bread, rice and pasta. These are GOOd for you, and you NEED carbs for your brain to work properly. This will help you get back on track with your school work. Send a message to one of your best friends, and explain the situation. He/she will understand. Say you are sorry but you've been through a lot, and need them there for you. Talk to your mum, and explain all that you are going through. A problem shared is a problem halved. You can have the occasional biscuit/chocolate bar etc - this WILL NOT make you gain weight. It's healthy ok.? :) Look at a food pyramid on google, and you will see that you are allowed sugary snacks evey so often, and you will also see that you are supposed to have a lot of carbs!
also, it's nearly Xmas, so don't panic. Enjoy yourself, be with your family and friends. Go for a walk every few days, and some sit ups if you want to tone up.

Polly, you need to re-establish a healthy relationship with food and not see it as 'good' and 'bad'. Eat a healthy, balanced diet (i.e. 3 meals a day) with no fattening snacks like crisps, chocolates etc and you will be fine. I eat 3 three meals a day but on occasions I pig out. No big deal, I eat fine for 99% of the time so so what if I pig out once in a while.?!

I am sorry you feel that way. I really do identify with how you are feeling as I used to binge if I dieted and felt awful about myself too. I got over it with counselling over a period of time. Okay you need to slow down!! You need to work at one thing at a time. You need to get your self esteem back. At your height you are a healthy weight! To stop your over eating i wouldn't diet or anything like that. I would plan 3 normal meals a day with snacks in between. Try get back to your old eating habits, before your eating disorder. And this way you wont be binging and you may even lose weight, not like 100s of lbs but a few pounds so you are at a stable weight and a weight you should be at because if your 137 lbs and binge then you must be naturally a lot thinner if you ate normally. Try to think positive and try get your life back. Eventually you will become more confident and happier. Now when it comes to friends just slowly start talking to them again. even if it means leaving them a comment on facebook. Try get back in contact with them and then maybe even arrange to meet up with them. Try not to rush into things. You have plenty of time. You also have supportive family who love you so you are not completely alone, they are there for you too. It may help joining a club like a dance club or, if there is any, a group where people who suffered from eating disorders can meet up and help each other. Then you could meet new friends who understand what you are going through. There is so much you can do, you just need to look out there and think positive.
