Gaining weight - what's the right way?!

Question: Gaining weight - what's the right way.?
Hey,

I got your attention - good.

To cut a long story short: I'm 23, 6 feet and friggin 136 pounds. I'm not blaming it on metabolism or anything. Even if mine is indeed fast I still can't say I tried to do much about it before.
I don't smoke, rarely drink and never abuse drugs. Not exactly an outgoing person, but I'm generally active.
For the last 3 weeks though I've been lifting free weights (no gyms around) and I'm trying really hard to add that extra to my meals. Whole wheat bread, walnuts, honey, peanut butter and more fish (not a big fan of sea food).
I'm getting kind of demoralized, because so far I think I've gained about 2 pounds or so, which is... nothing. So will this work.?
Working out is not a problem. I like it, but all that extra food makes me feel sick to my stomach and I don't think I can keep up with this regime for much longer.

So anyone that is or has been there.? Share some experience please.

Since it sounds like you do have a pretty high metabolism, you're definitely gonna need to eat! Start eating 2500-3000 Calories a day with at least 1g of protein per pound of body weight. If you're not putting on weight, add 500 calories every 3-4 weeks. Spread the calories out over 5-6 meals a day if you can.

Try for 40% carbs (green veggies, whole grains, etc), 40% protein (chicken, turkey, tuna, fish), and 20% good fats (nuts, peanut butter). Have protein with every meal. Earlier in the day have protein & carbs. Later in the day, protein & fats.

Glad to hear that you like working out, yer gonna need it! To build muscle, do 3-4 sets in the 6-10 rep range. Focus on the big compound movements like squats, deadlifts, bench press, shoulder press, & rows. Squats & deads are the best things you can do for your lower body, plus they pull in your core muscles as well (not to mention they flat out ABUSE your body!).

Doing some HIIT on your non-lifting days can help limit the amount of fat gained with the muscle (and yes, some of the weight gain WILL be fat - no way around it).

Whey protein first thing in the morning & right after lifting can help as well, esp if eating that much food is a problem.Health Question & Answer

brewing yeast. It has a lot of vitamin B, too. It will make you gain
weight in a week. Either buy at pharmacies, as supplement, or in any
place which specializes in brewing. Three pills a day/three tablespoons a
day - depends on the product, and you are there. Good for bones and
hair as well.
Add jogging/running to your weight lifting routine, or all of your new weight will end on your belly.Health Question & Answer

the first thing.. training

you have to trian hard and heavy.... workout 40 - 60 mins
train each muscle once a week
go for reps of 6-8, 4-6
protein is very important.. that helps the rebuilding and growth process.. so u should be eating 140 grams of protein per day.... it will make it easier if u buy some whey protein shakes and have 2 - 3 shakes per day.. so u do not have to eat as much protein from real food
complex carbs... sometimes we are not hungry, but u should be eating good energy foods, like brown breads/whole wheat bread.... oatmeal, brown rice.... vegtables, etc
Once your training becomes more exerting and more intense your body will want to consume more calories.. u will feel hungrier

no need to stuff yourself

and see if u can join a gym

Pretty boy :) good luck with all your gains..
