Combine cardio and strength training. Yes, going on the tread will help you lose weight, if you make it a goal to progress to intense workouts ie: interval training...you walk, then run, slow down a bit, then dash again at a higher speed....the point is to get your heart kicking (but not until you're out of breath - that's when u need to stop). Preferrably, try using the tread 30 mins a day on ave...start maybe with 10 mins/day gradually adding up...u wouldn't want to injur yourself (hence losing productivity with your workouts).
ALong with cardio, you NEED to do strength training. A few years back I simply used free weights doing things like lunges. Combined with resistance training. Do some push-ups (notice how military uses mainly their bodyweights and look how fit they are), crunches, etc. WHY you need strength training is because, you could continue burning calories even once you've already stopped working out and sleeping! With cardio, that is not the case. When u do weights, do more reps with less weight, gradually increasing weight to less reps.
You could start off working 3 times a week, then move to 4 times a week (esp when doing weights).
Eat foods rich in omega 3 essential fatty acids and proteins. Try to stay away from saturated fats, sugars, junkfood....foods with no/very low nutrition value...i think these are easy to recognize. Personally, I don't like to count cals. also from experience, eating sweets is worse than eating fats.
Good luck.Health Question & Answer
