Ok I am looking for encouragement and advice?!

Question: Ok I am looking for encouragement and advice.?
I'll make this short. I am a 33 yr old white female, non smoker, non drinker, I work in a sedentary job full time and am the mother of a 9 month old daughter. Since having her I gained an additional 25 lbs. I am 5'11'' tall and have never been very phyiscally fit or active. Ocassional exercise only. Now that I am getting older and wanting to get pregnant again in the next 12 months I need to get my weight under control. I want to lose at least 50 lbs but I don't know where to start. Please point me in the right direction and give me some advice on how to start and stay committed.?Health Question & Answer

I lost 40 lbs after baby number 2. I did this by eating 3 meals and 3 snacks a day, i stopped drinking pop ( i drink only water and green tea). For exercise i do Yoga Booty Ballet everyday. Baby is now 2yrs old and i still have kept off the weight. Good Luck in reaching your goal.Health Question & Answer

Well congrats on your child let me start off. I mean you can start off in the beginner workout if you decide to. But most of your battle would be your diet. 75% of the fight is diet and 25% is exercise. But during your pregnancy, you could still workout and the doctor here would recommend that you did some working out. But, not high intensity since that would put strain on your child. It was proven research that whatever exercise you receive, your child would receive the same. I wish you luck on it.Health Question & Answer

Start by eating healthier. Eat six small meals a day. It will keep you full and it will speed up your metabolism. Now as far as exercise goes... it is also very important in losing weight! You need to start weight training as well as doing cardio like running. Weight training believe it or not takes a big part on losing weight. Muscle burns more calories even while you are resting. So try going to the gym at least 5 times a week and try eating healthier... See body for life... It is similar to what im telling you.Health Question & Answer

Everyone has their opinion of what you should do, I'm no different. Take it for what its worth, but for ME, discovering low carb eating helped me trim off 50 lbs in 6 months and keep it off for 5 yrs. I would also recommend joining a gym and taking the different free cardio classes they offer. You can make new friends and get fit at the same timeHealth Question & Answer

Do some research to find out how many calories and/or fat you need per day to stay at your current weight. Then cut that number down a little bit at a time. You can keep track of how many calories, etc. you are consuming per day on fitday. com. It's free.Health Question & Answer

buy a book with a plan.
what i did to lose 30lbs in 5months.(my results were below average but im still happy to reach my goal)
i had a good simple eating and exercise plan.
i suggest for you. Hot Hips and Fabulous Thighs(strange title but very good book) you can a used copy of it on amazon for a few $
it's one of ellington dardens books(i have several) and contains an eating plan and menu for 1100 to 1300cal. diet(males get to eat 200cals. more per day1300-1500) combined with a 30min exercise routine that you can do with no equipment or whatever you have access to.
a book, where an expert has worked out the details, is so much easier than a hit or miss plan.
good luck

congrats on your baby!

I think you should start out slow--do about half an hour of light jogging/brisk walking each day for a week. Then increase it to maybe more light jogging and less brisk walking, until you're running for most of the half hour. Try to go a little bit faster each day, but not too much! also do some weights. Maybe getting an exercise band would help, because you can do ten reps on that then go somewhere else to maybe take care of the baby, then come back, since they are cheap and portable. Try to eat a lot of protein and veggies, but few carbs. Drink water. If you're worried about losing weight rather than toning, don't bother with situps. DO pushups instead. good luck!Health Question & Answer
