Is my diet appropriate to lose weight?!

Question: Is my diet appropriate to lose weight.?
Ok, so I have been overweight for a majority of my life and now want to lose it. Im currently 285 6'0 and 20 years old and in college. Now you are probably thinking jeez he must be big, well i might be packing a lot of weight but i dont not look obese i have a football player lineman build.

Currently this is how my day goes since i started my diet. I have a bowl of cereal in the morning then 4 hours later i will eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Then i will do a 1 hour lifting session consisting of 6-7 workouts. After my lifting session I will take 2 additional hours with the sports program i am involved in however that does not involve running but other physical activites. Once i am done with my practice I do 10 minutes of cardio then go back to my dorm and drink a protein shake consisting of 48g of protein. Then about 1 hour later i will go to dinner and eat a salad with some sort of pasta or meat. 2 hours after that i will eat 2 oranges. also through out the day i will drink atleast 6 bottles of water or more.

Now my question is if my diet will work for me to lose weight effectively.? If not what suggestions can you make.?

Please dont leave dumb comments I want real responses.

if you stick to it, definately. if you work in a little cardio sometime in the morning it will really boost your metabolism tho :) doesnt have to be anything huge just 10-15 minutes or soHealth Question & Answer

Cereal- make sure it is not loaded with salt and sugar, try finding a healthy one if it's not already

instead of p&j sandwhich i would swap it for salad and tuna or chicken or a salad with tuna and light dressing

i would also have some kind of fruit with your protein shake like a banana

and the rest sounds okay just don't forget to add veggies and fruit to your dietHealth Question & Answer
