Parents. It disgusting that they dont care enough to do anything. They can say its genetic to not feel guilty, but if they gave them an apple instead of a chocolate bar they wouldnt have a problem. I have a 7 year old son, who is the perfect weight for his height ( 4 stone, 4' 2" ), but I struggle to find clothes that are not 'wafty' on him because too many shops make clothes for fat kids. Parents who eat a lot of crap themselves, for whatever reason, also tend to make their children fat too, because its a little eating pal for them and they dont feel as guilty for eating the crap themselves if they've got somebody else doing it with them.Health Question & Answer

part genetics and part the parent's fault for not teaching their kids how to eat properly or making them get outside and play but instead letting them sit on the couch watching tv and playing video games all the time. also, part of it is the schools. A lot of school districts have dropped PE from a daily class to 1-2 a week. Currently my kids school district demands that kids all be in PE daily for at least 45 minutes but the district that I sub. in only requires PE 2 times a week. Kids need to get out of the classroom daily just to let off the extra energy they have and removing PE from the daily schedule is a hardship on themHealth Question & Answer

I think it has a bit to do with genetics but mostly the parents
it's likely if the partent/s is fat they teach their kids to eat the same way they do which is obviously very unhealthy to be overweight & even obese! You can tell by their eating habits they are taught from young to eat junk food and continue to do so until they wake up and realize they are overweight and unhealthy and try and change their eating ways by dieting...most fat people don't unless they are determined
most fat people know they are fat but choose not to take action simply because they are lazy!

Try and talk to your parents, brother, auntie, uncle and cousin about what could possibly happen to them if they keep eating junk food!

Good luck & stay positive!Health Question & Answer

The following:

a)Advertising for unhealthy food directed at children.
b)Parents lack of knowledge of a healthy diet
c)Emotional problems which can lead yo using food as a way of forgetting about them
d) Poor lunch facilities in school which lead kids to buying unhealthy rubbish
e) Large portion sizes/lack of knowledge of what a regular portion size should be - children being given an adults portion size.
f) Over emphasis on food
g) Obese/overweight parents - lifestyle follows on
h) "fat" Genes, some children can suffer from "fat" genes if there descendants have been fat through the result of eating a lot this can bring about a tendency to put on excess fat.

These could be possible reason's as to why they are fat. Try to help them rather than critisize as it will only encourage them to eat more, ignore the problem, and lead to health consequences.Health Question & Answer

This is a question my husband and I had a discussion on recently, we believe that parents have some responsibilty but also so does the government and the shopping stores, yes some parents can be lazy and buy junk food as its easier, but some families on a tight budget and junk food is cheaper, some families I have worked with cannot afford to spend money on fresh ingrediants for a shepherds pie when a family one in asda costs
