Is it Beneficial to work out every day?!


Question: Is it Beneficial to work out every day.?
I have this work out I do, let me explain.

I do 200 push ups, 200 sit ups, 200 lying butt bridges & 200 squats every day (only takes 30 minutes)

And in addition, I emphasize on working out different parts of my body every day. i.e. arms & back monday, chest & leggs tuesday.

I want to know, are my "200's" beneficial.? are they dangerous.? I heard two different really buff guys say they do 200 push ups every day.

I'd like to make sure that it isn't dangerous to work out every day.?

also is running 2 miles/every day safe.? can that be dangerous.? I am a 22 year old male.Health Question & Answer


Answers:
Nothing your doing is dangerous. You'll get a more effective workout at the gym though. What I do is I workout 5 days a week hitting a different part of my body every and take the weekend off to give my body time to recover. Every even day I do abs in addition, and every odd day I do cardio instead of abs in addition. It is good and more effective to hit a different part of your body each day. Doing cardio every day is fine, especially if you want to burn fat. Thats impressive that you can do all those 200s successively and yes they are beneficial but it would be more effective if you did exercises that were specifically designed for different body parts. For example the different types of curls work your biceps a lot more then a pushup will, and the different types of bench press will work better then pushups. There are also many other excercises designed specifically for those muscles and others for other muscles like your triceps, shoulders, back, quads, hamstrings, and so on. If you don't want to go to the gym then buy some dumbells so you can at least use those. www.bodybuilding.com has great workouts and has a thing that lets u make a customized workout. I read in Arnold Schwartzenegger's weight lifting book that the only muscles that should be worked out beneficially every day was the stomach and the rest should be alternated every other day. But wow! You sure are committed. I run 2 miles every day and sometimes more, but I don't think it is unsafe. Military people run 5 to 10.Health Question & Answer

If you can do that many then the resistance isn't nearly enough to be productive.Health Question & Answer
