Question: Is there a healthy way to do a simple, one-day detox.?
I eat a lot of food I guess you could describe as "heavy." I've had a craving for lighter foods such as fruits and vegetables lately, and I was wondering if it would be healthy for a skinny yet healthy-ish vegetarian to eat solely fruits or vegetables (or both) for an entire day.? Or rather, to detox for a way, just to flush some of the crap that's in my system out.Health Question & Answer

Yes, you could. Best vegetarian method is to combine veggie juices,natural fruit juices ( no added sugar) and water alternately throughout the day. It's vital that you provide essential electrolyte while flushing the body. Since it's only one day, your body will tolerate much lighter nutrition. If you feel dizzy or lightheaded .? you may eat some fresh fruits, for if this is your 1st attempt, body can react strangely, just in case...

Acid content in fruit juices will also boost cleansing process, while veggie juices provide nutrients and help clean the system also.
Are you planning on doing it on your day off, so you don't have to drive or use extra calories for activities.

I do the natural detox every couple of months, although I eat pretty healthy everyday with a minimum animal meat, mostly plant based foods, fruits and fat free dairy products. But as I age my system tends to get lazy on removing undesirable food induced toxins.
