Good about the soda. You know what's sweeter than table sugar (sucrose).? Fruit sugar (glucose). Try to substitute little junk food snacks with fruit and veggies. Jonagold or Fiji apples are pretty sweet and good. also, raisins, grapes, blueberries, strawberries, etc. You're main concerns should be portion size, keep it within reason, you don't need to have food falling of the plate, and nutrient density. When you aren't hungry anymore, stop eating and throw that food away, or keep it for left overs. Now, nutrient density is a pretty essential part of diet, it is the percent daily value of a nutrient, divided by the number of calories in a given food. You want a nutrient density equal to or greater than one. I'd recommend looking this up. In a nutshell, you're body needs nutrients and calories, so you need to eat things that are good sources of both. Coke, for instance, has no nutritional value, but is like 300 calories a bottle, it's a bad choice, it's what they call empty calories. If you like chocolate, go for dark, not milk chocolate.

As far as work out routines, you need cardio the most. I'd try walking or elliptical. If you like to jog, go for that, but for women especially, walking might be better. Besides that, do exercises you enjoy, or else it will be harder to have the will power to keep working out.Health Question & Answer

Do small steps to produce lasting change. Start adding more fruits and veggies. Stop drinking caloric beverages; they're just a waste. Get enough sleep every night. Find something to relieve stress (perhaps running or yoga.?)

Try using fruit to satisfy your sweet tooth or find healthier alternatives or, as a last resort, eat smaller portions of those sweets you can't resist.

You'll need to do research on working out. The Gym Rats community on LiveJournal has a wealth of information and great links in their info page.Health Question & Answer
