Should I go to the hospital (pic included)?!
Question: Should I go to the hospital (pic included).?
On my amputated limb I burned myself. I wasn't paying attention. I have no nerves in the limb, so I can not feel it at all. does it look like i need to go to the emergency room.? I am pretty prone to getting infections, but totally don't have the money for a hospital visit. its a bit red-er than in the picture, about 3 inches wide (each spot) and 5 inches across. thanks

Answers:
if you wear a prosthetic keep it off till the burns heal. go to the drug store get some creme for burns and keep it clean. wash it daily and regularly soak the stump.
you really should consult a doctor or at least chat with your prosthtist if you have one. As another amputee that had nerve damage on her stump any injury needs to be taken seriously. Blisters can break down and become infected very quickly with out you even noticing it. It doesn't take long for minor injuries to turn into big problems.
Keep an eye on it if it starts to get worse see a doctor.Health Question & Answer

I suggest that you go to your GP (if you can). Those are large burns and it's better to be safe.
Put some water on it if you can, a wet cloth (not ice). That can help it in the long term.
Try not to damage the skin more, don't put any oils or anything on it unless your doctor tells you so.
If you feel worried or anxious, go to the hospital.Health Question & Answer

No, keep it clean and dry, use an antiseptic cream and do NOT burst the blisters...it will heal quiet quickly assuming you are otherwise healthy.Health Question & Answer
