drink a glass of warm (or cold) milk before bed.
face your alarm clock away from you.
don't have coffee or chocolate before you go to bed - these are stimulants.
try sticking your feet out from under the cover when you go to bed because your body needs to reach a certain temperature before you can fall asleep.

have you tried nytall you can get it from the chemist
or see your g.p. for something stronger if they dont help.
if your gp wont prescribe you anything ask your chemist to recommend something.
cut out caffeinene. and hi energy food, sugar after 5pm.

Ask your doctor to prescribe you some codeine (mostly used for curing a cough, but also makes you sleepy). I was stressed a lot and couldn't sleep, but those pills do help amazingly well:)Health Question & Answer

I agree with Alen. I used to take cough syrup for my asthma and I also found out it worked a treat with helping getting to sleep.Health Question & Answer
