Is a double sided chest piece better than a single sided?!
Question: Is a double sided chest piece better than a single sided.?
I just started nursing school and I need to buy my first stethoscope. I'm just not sure if I should get one with a double sided chest piece or a single sided.? The single sided claim to do the same thing as a double sided without having to turn it over. I was just wondering if one really is better than the other.? Health Question & Answer
Answers:
I use a Littmann, and the two sides have different uses, one is for heart and the other is for lung amplification.
A good stethoscope should,
1. Have a steel chest piece.
2. Have a thick dual tube.
3. Have a good flexible diaphragm.
4. Have angled soft ear tips.
5. Should cost around $25.
and when you graduate and start working, get a one single head and one spare, just in case. They should last for about 5 years.Health Question & Answer
